(Santa Monica, CA) - Porter Development, the Santa Monica-based design-build firm, announced today that it recently completed work as a construction partner to renowned interior designer Jane Eschen on the exterior courtyard of the Los Angeles Magazine Design House 2003.
As Eschen's general contractor, Porter Development implemented her vision for the outdoor entry to the dramatic showcase home, a five bedroom, 10,640 sq. ft. stucco mansion in the Riveria section of Pacific Palisades. "We were more than pleased to collaborate with a designer of Jane's caliber on a project that always brings together the best in Los Angeles architects, designers and builders. It puts us where we like to be -- in esteemed company," said Bill Taylor, Porter Developmentıs Vice President of Construction.
The Los Angeles Magazine Design House 2003 is a prestigious development project spearheaded by developer Lorna Auerbach, who oversaw collaboration between architect Richard Landry, 17 hand-picked designers and two landscape architects. The residence, just south of Sunset Boulevard and east of Rustic Canyon, was built to evoke the historic homes in the Andalusia region of Southern Spain, circa-19th century.
Founded in 1995, Porter Development is a boutique design-build company offering a complete range of development services for residential and retail real estate, including architecture, construction, interior and exterior design, entitlement processing and planning. The firm often collaborates with world-class architects and designers, and also builds its signature new homes for sale. Recently completed projects include Marin Lofts in San Rafael, Carrara Place in Brentwood, and Shirley Estates in Tarzana, in addition to numerous single-family custom residences in greater Los Angeles.
